SCALES ARIZONA GERMAN SHEPHERD DOGS
We have spent a great deal of time and money to re-write our contract and ensure that it complies with our high standards and Arizona law. Due to some very unscrupulous folks on the net that have taken and used our contract we now supply our contract only to potential puppy buyers that visit us. However, I have included a copy of our old contract for information and puppy prices
SALES CONTRACT & GUARANTEE Upon execution of this contract, the seller does hereby convey title and interest in the described German Shepherd puppy to the buyer (except for the terms listed herein). In the event that
the described German Shepherd puppy is a bitch sold with full
Prior to any subsequent sale or disposal of the described puppy, Scales Arizona German Shepherds will have first right of refusal. If the puppy's ears are not fully standing at the age of four (4) months, it is the buyer's responsibility to have the puppy's ears taped by a licensed veterinarian or by the breeders. Although there is no guarantee that every one of the puppies will not get hip or elbow dysplasia, we are making every effort to avoid such an occurrence by using stock that has been x-rayed and rated by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). Our policies on replacement/refund are stated below. The guarantee below to replace, refund, or partially refund, is good from 6 months old until the last day of the month your dog becomes 30 months old. In the event that a bitch conceives a litter or a male sires a litter, this guarantee becomes null and void. Scales' Arizona will not be responsible for any expenses incurred nor will Scales Arizona pay for any transportation charges for the replacement puppy. HIP DYSPLASIA Hip Dysplasia is a congenital malformation of the ball and socket joint of the hip. A dog may or may not become lame because of the disease and depending upon its severity. In the event that one of our puppies does become dysplastic, we will do one of the following: We will replace the puppy with another puppy or give a full refund if the puppy is found to have severe hip dysplasia (moderate or extreme) in which the disease is crippling and properly diagnosed. The X-ray and the OFA letter of diagnosis must be returned to the breeders. If the buyer chooses to keep the puppy, a certification of sterilization must be given before any replacement or refund will be made by the sellers. We will replace
the puppy with another puppy or refund one-half purchase of the puppy
that is found to have mild hip dysplasia (borderline or mild) in which
the disease is properly diagnosed. The X-ray and the OFA letter of
diagnosis must be returned to the breeders. The buyer must provide a
certification of sterilization before any replacement or partial refund
will be made by the sellers. ELBOW DYSPLASIA The term elbow dysplasia has been used to generally describe elbow joint problems in dogs. There are many areas that the OFA uses in their certification program. Lameness caused by panostetis is a temporary disease of the long bones. Although painful, panosteitis is not permanent. In the event that one of our puppies does become dysplastic, we will do one of the following: We will replace the puppy with another puppy or give a full refund if the puppy is found to have severe elbow dysplasia (Ununited Anconeal Process (UAP), Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD) or Fragmented Coroniod Process (FCP) in which the disease is crippling and properly diagnosed. The X-ray and the OFA letter of diagnosis must be returned to the breeders. If the buyer chooses to keep the puppy, a certification of sterilization must be given before any replacement or refund will be made by the sellers. We will replace the puppy with another puppy or refund one-half purchase of the puppy that is found to have elbow dysplasia known as Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD) in which the disease is properly diagnosed. The X-ray and the OFA letter of diagnosis must be returned to the breeders. The buyer must provide a certification of sterilization before any replacement or partial refund will be made by the sellers. DEFINITIONS AND PRICES Pet or Companion Dog: Prices range from $1500 and up depending upon age, quality and bloodlines. There is no warranty that the puppy will be Show Quality or Breeding Stock.
Prices range from $1800 and up depending upon age, quality and bloodlines. The showable dog goes beyond the definition of a pet and is free of all disqualifying and major serious faults. With the proper conditioning, training and professional handling, the dog should do well in the conformation ring. However, this dog is in no way guaranteed to win in the show ring. Structurally he/she embodies the basic type of the German Shepherd Dog and is better than average in quality and appearance. We recommend that if you desire to show in conformation that you seek professional advice.
Prices range from $2000 for show quality youngsters under six months, depending upon age, quality and bloodlines. Older show dogs are more expensive. A show dog is free of all disqualifying major and serious faults. He/she is a rare animal that with proper training, conditioning and handling is able to win in the conformation ring. As competition is extremely keen it is impossible to guarantee consistent winning of any dog. Competition and judges options vary from show to show. Because of this we can not guarantee that this dog will finish his/her championship. It is of utmost importance to seek expert help.
The Buyer understands that if the puppy is sold with limited registration, any offspring of the animal WILL NOT be accepted for registration with the American Kennel Club (AKC). Any puppy sold with limited registration is considered by the sellers to have a disqualifying fault. However, all our dogs, regardless of sex and structure are intelligent and have excellent temperament and trainability. This animal should be neutered/spayed by nine (9) months old. |
